Ebrach and its monastery, about 30 kilometres away. In 1655, the abbot introduced the grape vine “Silvanerrebe” and thus the basis of the Franconian wine. The highlight of the premises is the church with its rich décor. Staffelstein, about 30 kilometres away. Its triangle of monastery, basilica and the “Staffelberg” (mountain) is the main tourist attraction. Further, it offers beautiful thermal baths as well as steam baths and sauna. Fränkische Schweiz (Franconian Switzerland), 35 kilometres away. Places of interest here are the basilica and fortress “Größweinstein”, the toboggan run in Pottenstein, and caves such as the “Teufelshöhle”, “Binghöhle”, and “Sophienhöhle”.
